INCLUSIVE REALITY / EIGHT DAYS ON THE ROAD
“A road trip can change what people see — and how they choose to see one another.”
Eight Special Olympics Romania athletes with Down syndrome left the familiar behind for an eight-day journey across Romania, guided on screen by Mircea Radu. The adventure mixed cultural landmarks, everyday tasks and challenges that demanded courage, trust and teamwork.
The directing language stayed close to the group: spontaneous, warm and alert to every honest reaction. Beyond the itinerary, the real story was the bond that formed between the eight protagonists — and the space the format created for a more open conversation about inclusion.
An eight-day route through Romania gives the series its momentum and constantly moves the group beyond the familiar.
From cooking and treasure hunts to zip lining, paragliding and flight, each experience reveals character rather than manufacturing it.
The most important action is human: friendship, fear, humour and independence observed without distance.
